Spring Colors, ribbon shares & new class

Hope you're not getting tired of my scrapbook pages made with the ever wonderful MDS2!!!  I can't say enough how wonderful Stampin' Up! has made this program.  The changes and improvements are just over the top!  This is another layout I picked up from my class with Heather Summers.

We have been without power now for an hour for unknown reasons.  The entire subdivision is dark.  Luckily we have a nice generator and my husbands not working tonight so we hooked it up to the house and have power where needed :)  Thank goodness for modern day technology!

For any of you that missed out on the last round of ribbon shares I am going to offer it again.  Here are the details from the last time I posted the info on ribbon shares.  Just send me an e-mail with which ones you are interested in, karlita@tctwest.net

For any of you in the Billings/Laurel area, I'm offering a class on Thursday, September 6th that will be creating the holiday ornament featured on the front page of the Holiday mini catalog.

Class fee is $25 and will include a package of the cherry cobbler tulle and a package of the vintage faceted buttons used on this ornament.  Class registration is due by Friday, August 31st so I can pre-order all the supplies.  Just drop me a line if you'd like to sign up.  You can also RSVP on my Stampin' Up! website here

Very time consuming!

When I saw this page in our MDS class I new I wanted to do it but didn't realize how long it would take to make it!  After many days and several hours later I finally have the finished product.  It's amazing what you can create with punches and correctly using shadow to enhance your layering.

My daughter's first day of school is today.  Yes, Friday!  Don't understand the logic behind that.  Have to get her up early and fix her hair and get photos before I get off to work early myself.  Check back in a few days for a page from the first day of school :)

New MDS Downloads & more MDS pages!

Yeah, it's Tuesday (well it was when I started the post & blogger is giving me problems) and more great downloads from Stampin' Up!  I'll leave those until the end of the post 'cause I'm so pleased to show you my latest creations on MDS.  Hope you're not getting board with them yet.  I'm just having so much fun!  You just can't believe all the new amazing updates they put into MDS2!

Today's pages play with a few new features:  using watermark, creating on a two page layout, using the freeform line tool, and applying text to a path.  The watermark feature acts like using versamark in tradition stamping.  That's what I used on the snowflakes throughout the pages.  I was able to work on these pages side by side and thus how I was able to have my title run from one page to the next.

One other important point to MDS2...all the newest digital downloads are being created as SVG files.  What does that mean?  The stamp sets can be manipulated to a larger size without the image becoming distorted.  This offers much more flexibility when creating and not being limited to the size of the stamp.  However, SVG stamps won't work with the original MDS program.  You will need to upgrade to MDS2 for them to work correctly.

**hmmm...another blogger issue....won't let me post side by side photos, bah humbug

Now for today's newest downloads.  And don't forget about the downloads that are being offered at a 31% discount thru the end of the month.  It's a great way to build up your MDS inventory.  Check out that list here

More MDSing

Is that such a word?  In the Stampin' Up! world it should be!  Anyway, todays post brings you another page I learned from my online class with Heather Summers.  I highly recommend it to anyone whether you're experienced or just beginning.

With MDS 2 Stampin' Up! has created this handy dandy tool that allows me, with one click of a button, to pull up all the information so I know what was all used to create this page.  So let's give it a shot at the "recipe" for this page.

Cardstock:  First Edition, Noteworthy, Pool Party

Punches:  Check This Out, flag punch, Dotted scallop ribbon punch, square punch

Stamps:  Elementary Elegance

Embellishments:  Bakers Twine

Hope you enjoy todays post and it can inspire you to try digital scrapbooking!  Until next time...

SUO51 & NA7

Before I came downstairs tonight to work I skimmed thru my copy of Paper Crafts magazine and found a sketch that I thought I'd like to try sometime.  Then I get online to look at some of the sketch challenges and low and behold, it's almost identical to the one in the magazine.  So, of course, I jumped on the band wagon!

We have double duty again tonight.  Makes my life a little easier.  Plus it'll go to the recipient tomorrow.  So actually killed 3 birds with one stone :)

Have to say that the weather today was just like I said it would be.  A beautiful 60 degrees, cloudy, and drizzly!  Heaven sent after the 90 plus degree days we've been having for well over a month.  Makes me look forward to the fall months, hopefully coming soon!

Nac7sketch

This sketch is from a new challenge blog just recently started, Nacho Average Challenges.  I'd love to see these crafty ladies get a lot more traffic, so I'll be playing along as my time allows.  Thanks ladies for the new site!

And this sketch also follows the guidelines to participate in the SUOnly challenge this week by using DSP in a creative way.   Thanks for letting me show my creativity!

Cardstock:  Whisper white, Daffodil delight, Old olive, Real red, Marina mist, Pumpkin pie, Rich razzleberry, and Polka Dot DSP

Stamp set: You're Amazing

Accessories:  1-1/4" scallop circle punch, 1" circle punch, Apothecary accents framelits, Big Shot!, 3/8" brights glimmer brads

Thanks for stopping by and have a great remainder of the week!  Kari

MOJO254 and FM71

Today's card is covering two sketch challenges.  The Friday Mashup is a new blog I've found so thought I'd give it a shot this week.  Love doing these sketch challenges as it gives me an excuse to use all my new stamp sets.  And Lord knows I've got lots of new stamp sets!!!!  And then I'll have lots to use for my display boards come this fall for all the craft shows in our area.

Stamp set:  Evergreen

Cardstock:  Whisper white, Basic black, and Brushed silver

Accessories:  Big Shot!, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Heat tool, Silver elastic cord (retired), rhinestone brads (why did they retire?), Iridescent ice embossing powder, Silver embossing powder

Sooooo looking forward to tomorrow as the weatherman is predicting a cold front to come thru which means about a 30 degree drop in temperature.  At 97 degrees today and a strong wind it didn't take long for the clothes to dry outside.  Also looking forward to a cloudy sky with maybe a drop or two of rain.  It's not asking for much, is it?!

MOJO253

Just one of the little perks of attending convention is that we receive a unique stamp set for attending several of the classes.  This set is not available for purchase and is only held by those that attend convention.  This year, of course, the stamp set followed along the theme of convention, "I am".

Convention is a great experience to be had by all!  Just to be around people that share the same love of stamping is such a natural high.  I wish all of my customers could experience it and understand why I love Stampin' Up! so much.  Next year will not be a let down for sure as Stampin' Up! celebrates 25 years in business.

I would love for you to jump on board with me and take the Starlight Express to Salt Lake City next year.  This month only Stampin' Up! is offering an extra incentive gift for joining as a demonstrator.  You will receive a FREE Howl-o-ween Printer's Tray project kit!  This boo-tiful kit contains all the bits and pieces to create a super spooky Halloween deocration.

Now that you can create your own customizable kit for only $99 and receive free shipping on your kit, why wouldn't you want to join the Starlight Stampers?!   I'd love for you to join as I expand my team.  Please email me if you have any questions.  karlita@tctwest.net

Here's the recipe for today's creation:

Cardstock:  Primrose petals, Baja breeze, Midnight Muse, Whisper white, and Patio Party DSP

New MDS Page!

Today's page can be created by anyone whether you're a beginner or expert. When you purchase the Grad Party Ensemble, there is a page that's predone for you. All you need to do is transfer your photo over to the page.  These are some of the elements you get when you purchase this download.  There's also several different pages of DSP.

But as you can see, I didn't use it for a graduation page.  I made a few tweaks to the page, and voila, we have a birthday layout!  The beauty of theses pages that Stampin' Up! creates is that they can still be manipulated to different colors, deleting pre-printed words, or changing embellishments. Or as you can see I added more pictures.  I find it hard to dedicate one full page and only have one picture on it.  I have far too many pictures to only have one on a page.

If you enjoy seeing these projects and want to create some on your own, don't forget the free 30 day trial for MDS2!  Head over to my Stampin' Up! online store and make your purchase.

Lots of important news!

Have I mentioned lately how great this week is going? :)  Today is the second day of sprinklers being put in my yard.  I no longer have to be a hose dragger and spending my time moving sprinklers....which means more time to play!!

August 1st marks several important events at Stampin' Up!.  First item is an incentive gift when you join Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator.

  • While the $99 price tag is exciting in and of itself, one of the biggest perks of the new Starter Kit is its flexibility! If you're a customer that likes to buy a lot of product then you should understand that not only are you getting a great deal on Starter Kit products but you get to choose for yourself, but you will also get a 20 percent discount on additional Stampin' Up! products.
  • If you're a little people phobic, remember you will have free access to Stampin' Connection and invitations to Stampin' Up! events-not to mention the fantastic new friendships you'll forge and regular opportunities to get together and stamp.
  • For those who can't get enough of the products and samples, you have access to sneak peeks, Title Benefits Bundles, Stampers' Showcase, and a FREE demonstrator magazine filled with beautiful photos and project ideas!

  • In addition, new demonstrators are eligible for TWO FREE months of Demonstrator Business Web Services (DBWS)-including their own business website and Online Store, access to a blog, calendar, a monthly e-newsletter, project gallery, and e-cards-if they sign up within 21 days of becoming a demonstrator.

With all these great extra perks why wouldn't you want to give Stampin' Up! a try?  I'd love to have you part of my team whether you want to join to make extra money or just want to get a discount on the product.  This time of the year is one of the best times to join!  Head over to my Stampin' Up! website and take the plunge!

Second big news....MDS2 became available!  This new upgrade to the current My Digital Studio offers so many new features to creating digital scrapbooks or other digital projects.  Part of this promotion is a 31% discount on a select group of digital downloads.  Check out this list while shopping online.

And last but not least, the Holiday catalog is now available to purchase with tons of amazing holiday projects to choose from.  If you don't have a current catalog, drop me an email with your address so I can get one out to you.  karlita@tctwest.net

After I upgraded my software yesterday to MDS2, I got down to business and recreated some of the projects from the online class I took with Heather Summers.

Just add a cute baby girl picture and you're all set!

If you want to get started, but don't know how, I will be starting some MDS classes this fall.  In the meantime, download the free trial and get started.
