Nurse Owl

Today we received some unfortunate news regarding my mother-in-law so I needed a card for my husband to bring her for her surgery tomorrow.  I wanted something light hearted and thought this card fit the bill and will hopefully lift her spirits.  I've always loved the owl punch so couldn't resist making this one.  Her little nurse hat is the apron upside down.

Send Me Soaring

My husband and I had our first date night in I can't tell you how long...possibly before the kids were around. And it's only because they had a birthday party to go to!  I know it's sad....So I got home from work today and had a little bit of time to come up with a little boy birthday card.  I've been wanting to do this card for awhile so here was the perfect chance.  Could easily swap out the kites and replace it for the balloons in Up, up and away.

New Retired Accessories list & definitely decorative

This morning Stampin' Up! released the retired accessories list and the definitely decorative list.  The biggest surprise is the stamp pads.  Here's the scoop! They are not discontinuing any of our colors but introducing a new Firm Foam Pad of our Classic Stampin' pads.  These new pads are offer better ink coverage and, in turn, better stamped images.  Also on the list is a lot of the 12" x 12" cardstock.  The plan is to convert the colors to be available in color assortment packs but still keeping the popular colors available to be purchased individually. This also holds the same for the Stampin' Write markers. 

As depressing as this may seem, keep in mind that the new catalog is just around the corner and it will hold tons of new product that you will absolutely love.  These retired items will be just a memory.

Pocket silhouettes is another of my favorite stamp sets so I was completely bummed to find it on the Stampin' Up! retired stamp list.  (insert sad face....)  It's so versatile!  It could be used on a sympathy card, a thank you card, birthday card, or just a "because" card.  I came up with this thank you card for the club girls this month that accompanied their order.  I used this color combination since this color is also retiring and I have a lot to use up.  Seems I overestimated my need for packages of DSP this year.  Definately need to cut back with the new catalog!

Masculine Happy Birthday

My husbands birthday was a few days ago so I came up with this simple card in a few minutes.  He's a real simple guy so didn't need anything over the top.  Thinking about how old he is makes me feel old.  And thinking my 20 year reunion is this summer doesn't help me feel any younger either!  I remember going to my dad's 20 year reunion and it doesn't feel that long ago.  Anyway, back to the reason you're viewing this blog:

Retired Stamp List

With much anticipation the retired stamp list was published today!  The list is quite large as the next catalog is going to be smaller so they had to make some adjustments.  I am quite unhappy that several of my favorite stamp sets are on there. I don't know if I'll be able to part with some of them (insert sad face)...

Check out the retired list here...  Be sure to print off the list and mark your catalogs.  You don't want to miss out on some fabulous sets.  Once you've gone through your list you can place your order here!  Remember these sets are only available until May 31st or if they sell out before that.  Because once they're gone, they're gone!!!
