Triple Treat Flower

Have I mentioned how cool Pinterest is?  So many ideas at the touch of your finger tips!  And it's cool that it's a free site for promoting whatever you're into....It's also nice to be able to store all my ideas in one place instead of wondering where did I find this idea from.....So that brings me to tonight's awesome card I found on Pinterest!  Just changed a couple things and made it my own creation.  This stamp set is one of my favorites so I hope Stampin' Up! keeps it around for the next catalog. I've used it for every season by just changing the color of the ink.

New class & new downloads

Evening everyone!  Hope this week has been treating you well.  Saturday's Button Buddies class was a great success!  The girls had a great time.  I know several of you had St Patrick's Day commitments so if anyone is still interested in the class send me an e-mail and if there's enough takers I'll set up another time. 

One of my new customers was able to make it to class Saturday and had a blast!  She has her own side business of making scrapbooks for people that don't have the time or the ability to do so.  What an awesome idea!  She has an adorable little blog that she was kind enough to feature me on.  You can check her out here:  http://www.brenbearcreations.com/

I am working on setting up another Stamp club here in the Laurel area that will meet at my house.   I'll need a minimum of 6 people interested in meeting one time a month, make 3 projects and place your minimum $25 order.  One month you'll earn the hostess benefits.  I've already got a few people interested so if you want to jump at the chance to join us don't wait!  Or if you know someone that might be interested have them drop me an e-mail and I can give them the specifics.

Since we had so much fun at class Saturday, I've decided to have another class next month for a fun new project!

Beautiful wings class

We'll create 10 cards with coordinating envelopes and an adorable display box. This is a great gift idea as it includes cards for many occasions.  Class will be held at the Bennion Dental Center on Saturday, April 14th.  It starts at 9:00 sharp as there are many steps to these cards so you'll need all the time you can get.  Class fee is $25 and due by Friday, March 30th to reserve your spot.  There is a lot of preparation for this class so that is why the deadline is so soon.  Send me an e-mail or RSVP on my SU website:  http://www.karikarlin.stampinup.net/

I'm about as far from Irish as you can get.  The holiday holds no meaning for me.  And sure don't understand the big fuss about making everything green or drinking green beer.  YUCK!!  But when I saw a fellow demonstrator make a similar card to this one, I couldn't resist making it as a thank-you for the girls doing my Button Buddies class tomorrow.

Simple roses

The third project we did for club was the following card where I taught the ladies how to make these adorable roses. 

All you need to make these are some craft tweezers and the scallop circle punch.  Take your craft scissors and cut into the scallop punch creating a pinwheel.

Now with your tweezers, grab the end of the pinwheel and twist the paper around the tweezer head working until you get to the center.  Place a glob of tombow glue on the circle base of your pinwheel.  Hold the flower to the center base as you release your tweezers.  Don't be afraid if your flower "opens up" & becomes bigger.  If you want a "tighter" rose don't allow it to open.  Apply pressure for about a minute until the glue holds your flower in place.  Apply to your card base with tombow glue as well.

Fancy Favor gift bag

The second adorable treat we made at stamp club the other night was this adorable gift bag.  They showed us how to do this at convention but I never had enough of one color of 12x12 card stock.  As luck would have it, the day I was working on the projects I had a wonderful shipment arrive from Stampin' Up! with 12x12 card stock. 

The bottom part of the gift bag (early espresso) you assemble as directed.  The top portion (the DSP), you remove the the flaps and seal the bag shut with sticky strip.  Punch two holes with your crop-o-dile and run a ribbon thru & tie off in a bow.  The flower is the new Blossom punch from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Fellow demonstrater, Dawn Olchefske, came up with the clever idea of using the modern label punch as an inside border.  Just amazing!  The center flower was then punched out with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch.  Punch a hole in the center for your brad.  Just love it!!

Flight of the Butterfly

Hey everyone!  I haven't gotten lost, just been out of town on a fun little weekend trip with the family to West Yellowstone snowmobiling.  Didn't get to snowmobile as much as we wanted as Saturday it snowed awefully hard and there was a strong wind so conditions weren't exactlty ideal!  Finally got to go out on Sunday and was hoping that my son could finally see some bison up close and personal but this is the first time out of all these years they weren't in their usual place.  Afraid they got chased back into the park.....

This is God's country!  Just love it here!

We made it back in time to have this month's stamp club.  This is one of the cute cards we did last night.  This stamp set is one of my old favorites.  Wouldn't be surprised if it retires in a few months....The girls learned three new techniques last night.  The others I'll show over the next few days. 

Always love to have a different fold for a card other than the traditional side open/close.
