New MDS downloads!

Wahoooo, it's Tuesday!!!  Why am I so excited?  Well, for one, it's my day off.  And two, there's new MDS downloads today.  Every Tuesday, Stampin' Up! posts new downloads available for purchase for My Digital Studio.  Now, this whole "crafty" thing started with me scrapbooking years ago.  I'm of the "old-school" scrapbooking meaning I like the dimension, the stickers, the touchy-feely things....I was proud to say that at one point in time I was completely caught up on my scrapbooking.....until we decided to sell our house.   After that the rest is history!  I have now come to the realization that it'll take an eternity for me to catch up again, until I broke down and finally tried digital scrapbooking.  I've been playing with it for the last week or so, now that I have my own business laptop.  LET ME TELL YOU, it's addicting!  While taking the kids places, I can take my laptop with me and play :)  And there's no mess to clean up or put away.  When you're done working, you press save and its ready to work on the next time.  Need I say more?  And starting tomorrow you can try it too for free with their 30 day trial period!

Happy Birthday Daniel!

Today's feature was my son's birthday card for turning 3 years old.  When I saw this stamp set in the catalog I knew I had to have it.  But amazingly it took me months to finally use it!  It's kind of like being a kid because I have too many toys to play with that some just sit on the sidelines  :-)  And yes, I do have stampsets that were bought with good intentions but never got mounted, and thus, never used.  Don't let my husband know! 

The bright colors in the Big Top Birthday DSP were just perfect for this stamp set.  Would love to have some time to create some scrapbook pages with this awesome paper!  If you look closely, I stamped clouds on the real red cardstock with versamark.

When this specialty paper came out in the catalog this year I thought to myself "I'll never order that.  The only thing it'd work on would be for scrapbook pages in a heritage album."  Well.......I started seeing it in some other demonstrators designs and it started to grow on me.  And then before I knew it I came up with this simple card. 

The sentiment can easily be changed for whatever occasion you need.  It's kind of hard to detect but I have rhinestones in the centers of the flowers on the lace ribbon border. 

Cardstock:  basic black, very vanilla, and First Edition Specialty DSP

Stamp set:  Pocket sihouettes

Accesories:  Lace ribbon border punch, 1" square punch, postage stamp punch, word window punch, modern label punch, basic rhinestones, versamark, black embossing powder, embossing buddy, and a heat tool

Stamp club card

Evening all!  I can't tell you how exciting this week has been.  Getting my blog started has been a large step in taking my business to the next level.  At night I go to bed with tons of thoughts running through my head and in the morning I wake up excited thinking about what's the next thing I can put on my blog.  I think my husband finally believes that I'm taking this quite seriously. 

So on to the reason I have this blog....we need some inspiration for creating some fun cards. 

This card was one that the girls made for stamp club this month.  Have I mentioned that I love the new Twitterpated DSP in the new mini catalog!
